The Bulls in the City arts trail is continuing to attract the attention and imagination of local residents with our very own sculptures, Work Hard Play Hard and Rebull enjoying a lot of engagement.

Reilly Creative are the inspiration behind our majestic bull and calf. Husband and wife team Lynsey and Kieron were keen to get involved in the trail, coordinated by Wild in Art to raise money for Birmingham Hospice, as Kieron’s Grandad was cared for at the facility.

Teamwork

Lynsey is a freelance scenic artist while Kieron’s main work is caricatures. With a history of bringing art to life, the pair are thrilled that their designs have captured the public’s imagination.

“We launched Reilly Creative ten years ago,” said Lynsey.

“We thought sculpture trails would give us a good opportunity to combine our skills so we could work as a unit, painting and designing together.

“It’s exciting when people pick our designs so when we were chosen to get involved in Bulls in The City we were really chuffed. The Hospice cared for Kieron’s Grandad and did an amazing job.”

With Rebull grazing at Millennium Point and Work Hard Play Hard relaxing outside Boldmere Methodist Church, Kieron says the response from local residents has been overwhelming.

“It is lovely seeing our sculptures on the trail and to see and hear about so many people and families engaging and interacting with both of them,” he said.

Get Involved

People taking part in the trail can unlock a whole range of prizes  using the special Bulls in The City rewards app.

All they have to do is visit as many sculptures as they can, there are 128 in total –  and scan the sculptures’ QR code to unlock some great rewards.

Communications and Community Engagement Manager at Witton Lodge, Jo Townsend, said: “With Birmingham Hospice right on our doorstep in Grange Road, Erdington, this project feels especially close to our hearts. Their compassionate care touches so many lives and we are incredibly proud to be able to support them.”

The trail is based on the Birmingham Bull which has sat outside the Bullring since 2003.

The trail ends on September 14. Click HERE to find out how you can get involved and unlock a whole range of special prizes and rewards.
