In The News: Witton Lodge Community Association
The June edition of the Erdington Local newspaper is now on shelves and features the latest news and updates from Witton Lodge Community Association.
Highlights this month include the launch of our brand new Maker’s Yard at Witton Lakes Eco Hub – a community facility dedicated to upskilling people in home maintenance and DIY and a preview of our next Jobs Fair, which takes place on 30th June at St Barnabas Church.
There is also a special celebration of our magnificent volunteers who received recognition for their efforts and support at a ceremony held to cap off Volunteers Week 2026.
NEW MAKER’S YARD WILL UPSKILL RESIDENTS
Local residents can beat the cost-of-living crisis, transform their homes and learn invaluable new skills for free at the new Makers Yard at Witton Lakes Eco Hub.
Free, weekly, hands-on workshops will show people how to undertake a range of everyday home essentials from basic plumbing to wiring a plug, to hanging shelves, painting and repairing furniture. More creative sessions will cover things like woodwork, furniture building and upcycling materials. Participants can also get involved in outdoor projects such as making bird boxes and garden planters.
JOBS FAIR CAN OPEN DOORS TO EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING
Local jobseekers are being urged not to miss the upcoming Witton Lodge Community Association (WLCA) Jobs Fair.
