Everyday throughout North Birmingham, local volunteers are quietly changing lives, whether it’s running a youth club, tidying up green spaces, checking in on an older neighbour, or simply being a friendly face for anyone who needs it.  

At Witton Lodge Community Association, we are delighted to be hosting a free KAVS information session at our Witton Lakes Eco Hub on Tuesday 15th September from 10am–12pm.  

About KAVS 

The King’s Award for Voluntary Service shines a spotlight on volunteer-led groups that have made a real, lasting impact in their communities. If your group brings people together and supports others by creating new opportunities to drive change in your community, your organisation could be nominated. 

These upcoming information sessions offer the perfect opportunity to ask questions and discover:

• What kinds of groups can apply 

• How the nomination process works 

• What evidence you might need 

• The benefits of receiving the award 

• How to celebrate and showcase your volunteers’ amazing contributions 

These informative sessions are perfect for local groups to learn more about the UK’s highest national honour for volunteer organisations and explore whether their group could be nominated. Often described as the MBE for volunteer groups, the award celebrates the dedication, impact and lasting value of volunteer-led organisations.
