Witton Lodge Community Association is looking for a motivated and passionate Employment and Skills Advisor to join our Youth Trailblazer programme. You will support young people across Erdington, Perry Barr and Sutton Coldfield to move confidently into positive and sustained outcomes including employment, apprenticeships, training or education. This is a practical, community-based role for someone who can build trust, unlock potential and keep young people moving forward—even when the path is not straightforward.

The Role

You will provide one-to-one coaching and group support to help young people improve their CVs, applications, interview skills and workplace readiness. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with employers, Jobcentre Plus, colleges, training providers and community partners to create progression routes into work, education and training, alongside maintaining accurate, audit-ready records, while meeting safeguarding, quality and programme requirements.

You’ll have experience supporting unemployed or economically inactive people to move into work, education or training, with strong coaching and communication skills and the empathy and resilience to motivate young people facing barriers. You will also be able to manage a busy caseload, meet targets, work flexibly and maintain high-quality electronic records, with a sound understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.

HOURS & SALARY

37 hours per week, £27,000 – £30,000 per annum

Contract until March 2027, with potential for extension
