On Saturday 13th June we were thrilled to welcome residents from Perry Common and beyond to come and celebrate the 2026 community festival Spring into Summer.

Saturday’s bonanza was one of the most memorable yet with hundreds of people transforming The Ring on Witton Lodge Road into a thriving space for laughter and community spirit.

Attractions

Spring into Summer once again delivered its much-loved favourites, with the giant super-slide, bouncy castle and tombola keeping smiles on faces throughout the day. However, it was the exciting new additions that truly captured attention this year.

The Mini Beasts Corner fascinated visitors of all ages, offering a hands-on experience with an incredible range of creatures, from snakes and bearded dragons to stick insects, geckos and even the cutest bunnies. Meanwhile, our new Bike Track proved an instant hit, with young riders eagerly hopping on to burn off energy in the sunshine. Alongside a vibrant mix of stalls showcasing local crafts and homemade gifts, families also enjoyed classic outdoor games – creating a lively, inclusive atmosphere with something for everyone.

Support

The festival was, once again, a wonderful showcase of what makes Perry Common so special. Paul Tse, Flourishing Community Services Co-ordinator at Witton Lodge Community Association said: “Spring into Summer brings people together in a way which celebrates the wonderful community spirit we have here in Perry Common. That warmth and togetherness were on full display.

“We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended and took part and to our incredible partners; St Martin’s Church, The Friends of Witton Lakes, Urban Devotion Birmingham, and Spurgeons, Birmingham City Council and The Net Pentecostal Church, and Erdington Leisure Centre. Their fantastic support and hard work helped make the day so spectacular!”
