An evening of beautiful songs and spirituals performed with voice and piano takes place at St Margaret Mary’s Church in Perry Common on Tuesday Juy 6.

The programme will feature compositions by Bach, Barber and Vaughan Williams as well as traditional Spirituals such as ‘Steal Away’ and ‘Round About the Mountain’.

Jeanne Conard Jones will be leading the performance. Jeanne hails originally from Cincinatti, Ohio. She moved to Germany where she spent more than 30 years, conducting choirs and showcasing her talents as a coloratura lyrical soprano soloist.

She will be accompanied by Jobe Baker-Sullivan, a local composer and animateur who regularly plays at St Mary’s on Sundays. Jobe will also play a couple of numbers on the church’s newly installed organ.

Tickets (in advance) are £7 each or £20 for a family ticket
Doors open at 7pm wit the concert starting at 7.30pm
