Since the Community Response Team was launched to help elderly and vulnerable residents in Perry Common and Wyrley Birch the support and generosity we have received from local people and partners has been fantastic.

The main hall at Perry Common Community Hall is now full of boxes of food and household supplies; donations that we have received from local residents and organisations like The Active Wellbeing Society.

Individuals or organisations who want to donate items are welcome to drop off food or household supplies to Perry Common Community Hall at 87 Witton Lodge Road (B23 5JD) anytime from 11am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.

Our staff and volunteers are now mobilised on the ground to deliver these items to those individuals and families who have been identified as needing them most. These deliveries take place twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

This level of core service support is also being rolled out to all of our residents at Sycamore Court (our independent living hub) and all of our WLCA tenants.

We are working closely with our partners in Perry Common; Urban Devotion Birmingham, The Net Pentecostal Church and St Margaret Mary Church, who are also managing the collection and distribution of goods and services to support those people who are isolated and vulnerable and most at risk from the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak.

In addition, we are working to support the Erdington COVID19 Taskforce, helping to co-ordinate support where it is needed most across the wider Erdington constituency. The Taskforce includes local councillors, The Active Wellbeing Society and representatives from Neighbourhood Network Schemes.
