This year’s Perry Common Christmas takes place on Friday December 6th with a whole host of brand new activities and a change of address for Santa himself.

For the first time since the event’s inception, Father Christmas will be at St Martin’s Church where he will be welcoming visitors to his grotto and handing out presents – but only to good little boys and girls!

Meanwhile, at Perry Common Community Hall, revellers can enjoy traditional festive games like hook-a-duck as well as a magician, face-painting and a lucky-dip. But the undoubted highlight is a Children’s Christmas Disco for the under 10s.

A Perry Common Christmas is organised in partnership between St Martin’s Church, The Net Pentecostal Church, Urban Devotion Birmingham and Witton Lodge Community Association. The annual celebration takes place from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

As well as hosting Santa, St Martin’s Church will also have a range of stalls offering art and crafts, jewellery, bric-a-brac and homemade goodies. At The Net there will be live music performances while Urban Devotion at The Underground will have a football cage, escape room and photo-booth.

Resident Director and Chair of Witton Lodge Community Association, Linda Hines MBE, said: “A Perry Common Christmas has become a much-loved event for everyone who lives in the area as it captures and celebrates the strong community spirit that exists here.

“Our Christmas event is always extra special, with activities for all the family to enjoy.”

Paul Tse, Flourishing Community Development Officer at Witton Lodge, has co-ordinated this year’s festivities.

“As this year marks the 25th anniversary of Witton Lodge Community Association, we wanted to do something a little different to mark the occasion.

“Having Santa at St Martin’s will give a new audience the chance to enjoy time with Father Christmas while our under 10s disco offers something unique for the younger members of our community to enjoy.”
