Connect to Work provides personalised supported employment for eligible people facing barriers to finding or staying in work. Youth Trailblazer supports young people aged 18 to 21 who are not in education, employment or training, or are at risk of becoming so, subject to programme eligibility.
The role
You will organise outreach, attend community events and drop in sessions, and develop referral links with Jobcentre Plus, community organisations, housing, health and education partners. You will follow up enquiries, support registration and help residents attend their first appointment with an employment advisor or specialist.
The role will cover WLCA’s delivery areas in Erdington and Sutton Coldfield, with Youth Trailblazer outreach also taking place in Perry Barr. Some evening or weekend activity may be required by agreement.
About you
You will be approachable, organised and confident engaging people from different backgrounds. You will have experience of community outreach, youth work, participant recruitment or a related public facing role, and be able to show how you have helped people take up support. You will also be comfortable working towards targets and keeping accurate records. Relevant paid or voluntary experience is welcome.
