The latest edition of the Erdington Local newspaper is now on shelves and features all the latest news from Witton Lodge Community Association.

In the April edition you can read all about a fantastic celebration held at Perry Common Community Hall which recognised the efforts and achievements of local entrepreneurs, young jobseekers and our volunteers.

There’s also a look back at what was a wonderful Easter at Witton Lakes Eco Hub with two weeks of family friendly fun which really caught the imagination of children, Mums and Dads.

CELEBRATING A VIBRANT COMMUNITY

Perry Common Community Hall hosted a lively celebration of local achievement.

Erdington MP Paulette Hamilton presided over proceedings which recognised the success of young people who have successfully transitioned into the workforce thanks to the support they recieved under the WOW! (World of Work) Youth Trailblazer programme which targeted local 18 to 21 year-olds.

In addition, Graduates of the Social Enterprise Training Programme showcased their ideas for establishing new Community Interest Companies and Creative Startups.

The event also recognised the tireless efforts of volunteers who continue to give their time to support others. As the event concluded, the message was clear: when a community invests in its own, everyone thrives.

A CRACKIN’ EASTER FOR LOCAL FAMILIES

The community spirit was egg-sellent at Witton Lakes Eco Hub as people flocked to the site for some family-friendly Easter fun and games.

From the thrill of an egg and spoon race, to a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts workshops and seed planting, the grounds came alive with the sounds of laughter. It was a joy to see so many children’s smiles lighting up the park as Mums and Dads also took the chance to relax and enjoy the holiday sunshine.
