Employment Support Suits Emma to a TEA
Expert advice and guidance provided by employment coaches at Witton Lodge Community Association has given one Birmingham Mum a new lease of life.
Emma Sheffield approached us for help with her benefits in a bid to find a job that considered her personal circumstances.
With a young son at home, Emma, who is also a carer for her own Mother, needed to find a role which worked around the youngster’s school hours.
Following a series of one-to-one sessions with Employment Coach, Haleema Khathoon, Emma has now secured a job at The Little Tea Shop in Birmingham City Centre.
Working 16-hours a week, the role gives Emma, who previously worked as a cleaner and kitchen assistant, the opportunity to develop herself and acquire the skills and experience she needs in order to fulfil her ambition of becoming a team leader.
“The support I received from Haleema was brilliant I don’t think I would have got this job without it,” she said.
Haleema, meanwhile, paid tribute to her client’s positive attitude and outlook.
“Emma was and is a pleasure to work with,” she said.
“She gives me all the glory but it was her hard work and commitment that secured her employment.
“Any organisation would be very lucky to have Emma. She would be a valuable asset to any team as she has a great sense of humour, is always punctual and never gives up, no matter what comes her way she pushes through it all.
“Seeing her in her new role at The Little Tea Shop brings me great joy. I wish her all the best for her future.”
