We’re excited to announce we are trialling new weekly guitar classes at Witton Lakes Eco Hub – helping Erdington strummers find their rhythm.

The sessions are led by cycling enthusiast and member of local band the Dave Mack 5, Trevor Lote. The aim of these new sessions is to make music accessible and fun!

Aspiring guitarists will:

  • Learn how to properly hold and handle an acoustic guitar
  • Master easy, two-chord songs designed to get you playing immediately
  • Have at least three songs under your belt in a month!
Inspiring Venue

The classes are delivered in the fantastic setting of Witton Lakes Eco Hub, every Monday from 2 to 3pm.

“The atmosphere is very relaxed and sociable,” said Trevor.

“Lessons are free so whether you’re looking for a new hobby or just a fun way to connect with other people, this group will get you in tune.”

Creating Connections

Shane Wedderburn, Flourishing Communities Services Manager at Witton Lodge Community Association, said classes were already having a positive impact.

“The aim is to provide a relaxed, inclusive space where residents can build confidence, develop new skills and strengthen social connections through music,” he said.

“The sessions are already contributing to improved wellbeing and confidence for those attending and there is clear potential for further growth as awareness continues to build.”

For more details on the guitar classes please call the Witton Lakes Eco Hub on 0121 227 3200. There are guitars available to use for those who are just starting out but people are encouraged to bring their own to the classes – if they have one.
