Our Bulls in The City Are Back Home
Guess who’s back! After an incredible adventure across Birmingham, we are absolutely delighted to welcome home our mighty Witton Lodge bull, Work Hard Play Hard and his cheeky little companion Rebull.
The pair have made a triumphant return to Perry Common Community Hall after wowing residents as part of the amazing Bulls in the City trail.

This fantastic public art initiative, which ran from July to September, has achieved so much more than just brightening up the city.
Fundraising success
The trail was launched by Wild in Art in partnership with Birmingham Hospice, to raise essential funds for the palliative care provider. It featured more than 130 sculptures who were all based on the city’s iconic Bullring Bull.
We sponsored our two fibre-glass animals to help connect our local community to the city-wide celebration of art and charity.
Meet our bulls
Communications and Community Engagement Manager at Witton Lodge, Jo Townsend said: “Their tour is over and our dynamic duo are back with us. They’ll be resting up at Perry Common Community Hall for a short while whilst we consider where their forever homes will be.
“The incredible success of the Bulls in the City arts trail contributed to the vital funds raised for the brilliant charity Birmingham Hospice, a cause we are incredibly proud to have supported.
“We’re over the moon that the auction has raised £156k for this amazing charity and we can’t wait to find out the full total raised throughout the whole initiative which will ensure the hospice continues to provide the expert, compassionate care and support to local people that it is renowned for.”
A triumph for community spirit
At the heart of Bulls in The City was community impact for a much-loved Birmingham charity. The project was about bringing people together to connect through art whilst raising essential funds to support Birmingham Hospice.
Witton Lodge Community Association is so proud to have been involved in this superb initiative and play our part in supporting a charity that provides incredible support to so many people across our city.
We’re especially proud that one of the Hospice’s locations is in the heart of our local community with residents receiving excellent support from the fantastic team on Grange Road, Erdington.
Thank You To Everyone Who Supported
Witton Lodge offer our heartfelt congratulations to Birmingham Hospice and our gratitude to everyone who supported this magnificent initiative. Thank you for making this project such a memorable, fund-raising success including Lyndsey and Keiron at Reilly Creative who designed our sculptures.
