Fair Connects Job Seekers With Employers
More than 100 Erdington job seekers took a positive step towards employment at our latest jobs fair held at Perry Common Community Hall.
Organised by Marcia Lewis, Employer and Enterprise Advisor at Witton Lodge, it was the third jobs fair hosted by Witton Lodge this year, connecting local residents with employment and skills providers.
Those attending included Bmet, TJ Solutions, and Acorns Children’s Hospice who were able to share their range of employment and career opportunities.
A Path To Employment
“The event allowed job seekers to connect to employers and trainers who offered them valuable advice on kick-starting their careers and identifying and developing the skills they need to progress,” said Marcia.
The energy and momentum from all three fairs is now being channelled into a second class of the Witton Lodge’ Social Enterprise Programme.
Opportunity for Entrepreneurs
Building on the success of the first cohort, the Social Enterprise Programme aims to nurture local entrepreneurship and community development by connecting residents with career pathways by providing the tools required to create them.
The programme will support residents in developing their own businesses; boosting local employment and strengthening the Erdington economy from within.
The Social Enterprise Programme begins on November 4th. To take part contact Marcia Lewis on 0121 382 1930 or email: Marcia.lewis@wittonlodge.org.uk
