Valuable Bleed Kit training given to the WLCA team
We were delighted to welcome the dedicated team from the Daniel Baird Foundation Charity to Witton Lodge Community Association for an invaluable training session. Staff from across our hubs took part in a practical demonstration and awareness workshop, learning how to use life-saving Bleed Control Kits in the event of a serious injury.
The Daniel Baird Foundation was created in memory of Daniel Baird, a 26-year-old Birmingham resident who tragically lost his life to a stabbing. The charity’s mission is to ensure that publicly accessible bleed control kits are readily available in communities, working in partnership with local government, businesses and organisations like ours to make this happen.
Thanks to Holly, Daniel’s sister, and the dedicated team, Witton Lodge Community Association is now better equipped to provide vital support in the unfortunate event of a stabbing. Staff shared how invaluable and essential the training was, describing it as both fantastic and crucial for helping protect our local community.
We are proud to have four Public Access Bleed Control Kits across our sites, ensuring that members of the public can quickly find and use a kit in an emergency, potentially saving lives when every second truly matters.
You can discover where your nearest Public Access Bleed Control Kit is located by visiting UK Bleed Control Kit Register. Together, we can help make our communities safer, better prepared, and more resilient.
