Spring into Summer 2024 – Community Spirit at its Finest
The Ring in Perry Common was full of life once again with the much-anticipated return of our Spring into Summer Festival on Saturday, 15th June.
Regardless of the changeable weather and the epic downpour during set-up, we welcomed hundreds of visitors on the day to enjoy the event and take the opportunity to enjoy time with neighbours, family and friends.
Residents of all ages joined us to enjoy a fun-filled day, enjoying a variety of activities including the super slide, bouncy house, and of course, everyone’s favourite, the Perry Common donkeys! Our younger visitors enjoyed donkey rides on the day and we loved seeing the joy on their faces as they rode around The Ring!
As well as the popular super slide and donkeys, we also had face painting, football, henna artists, police vehicles and a variety of stalls from out community friends including Boss Gardens, Urban Devotion Group, Friends of Witton Lakes and St. Martins Church!
The event was very successfully co-ordinated by the committed team at Witton Lodge Community Association.
We spoke to our very own Resident Director/Chair at Witton Lodge Community Association, Linda Hines, who said “What a success it has been! It was pouring with rain when we were setting up, but the clouds cleared, and the sun is now shining.”
“There are hundreds here once again, and everyone is having a great time. Lots of laughter, lots of smiles, well worth it!”
Thanks to everyone that attended Spring into Summer even if you were just passing through, we loved seeing you, it’s such a pleasure to see our community come together and enjoy a great positive day.
