WLCA Launches Small Grants Programme for 2024
Witton Lodge Community Association is delighted to announce the launch of a Small Grants Programme on 3rd January 2024, funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
This new programme will build community capacity, capability, and networks in Erdington Constituency. Grants of up to £10,000 will be available to develop and deliver services for vulnerable residents and groups, and successful applicants will be encouraged to join local networks that share knowledge and collaborate on future opportunities.
The Small Grants Programme is aimed at community organisations and voluntary groups based or providing services within the Erdington Constituency (wards of Castle Vale, Erdington, Gravely Hill, Kingstanding, Perry Common, Pype Hayes, Stockland Green.)
Grants are available for community groups delivering projects against the following themes:-
Organisational capacity building
Building your organisations capacity and capability, this could include purchasing equipment; improving your ICT connectivity providing training and development to staff, volunteers and management committees members; undertaking governance audits; developing or improving policies and procedures.
Community events, engagement and reach
Providing services to vulnerable and marginalised communities. For example, older people, young people, Black and Minority Ethnic Communities, refugees and asylum seekers, etc; holding events to celebrate communities, or improve community resilience.
Health and Wellbeing
Working with communities to promote healthy lifestyles, improve wellbeing and promoting positive mental health.
Job, Skills and Enterprise
Provide support to people to develop their skills and support people into employment or enterprise.
Environmental Activities and Improvements
Increasing biodiversity such as tree planting, gardening, habitat creation; improve green spaces or turning unused land into pocket parts; sow and grow projects.

To support local groups with the process, Witton Lodge Community Association in partnership with Birmingham Community Matters, is hosting a Small Grants Workshop on 11th January 2024. The workshop will be split into information sessions throughout the day to provide full details of the fund, give help and advice as well as the opportunity to access face-to-face support with completing the grant application.
The workshop will take place at Witton Lodge Community Association, Perry Common Community Hall, 87 Witton Lodge Road, Birmingham B23 5JD. There is on-road parking available, and we are located on the No.7 bus route.

The application deadline is 18th January 2024 with the panel date set for 24th January 2024.
Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding their application on 25th January and payment will be made on the 1st February 2024.
