Organisations which have been approved funding under the Erdington Neighbourhood Network Scheme attended a grantee workshop.

During yesterday’s event, Afzal Hussain, Chief Officer at Witton Lodge Community Association, lead partner for Erdington NNS with Compass Support, spoke to attendees to about their responsibilities under the scheme, the process involved with grant applications and how funding is allocated to support activities which benefit the physical and mental wellbeing of older residents.

NNS Neighbourhood Networker, Alison Walker, said: “The workshop provided people with an overview of NNS and the small grants scheme across as the city.

“An update was given on how the scheme is being rolled out in Erdington and the expectations we have of those organisations allocated funding to deliver support services.

“It was a very positive experience with participants gaining more clarity on their roles under NNS. It also proved to be a valuable networking opportunity for everyone involved.”

Under the scheme’s Small Grants Programme people can apply for between £250 and £10,000, depending on the scope of their ‘initiative.’
