Calling all North Birmingham residents. If you have a passion for helping people then it’s time for you to become a Community Health Champion.

The Birmingham Community Health Champions programme is inviting people from across the city to step up and make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Funded by Birmingham City Council and delivered by partners across the city including Witton Lodge Community Association, this brand-new initiative empowers people to become trusted voices for health across the local area.

So if you’re passionate about people and have been looking for a way to give back – this is a great opportunity!

No Experience? No Problem!

To become a Community Health Champion you don’t need a medical degree or a background in science. You just need a desire to help others.

Champions will receive free monthly training on topics ranging from mental health to nutrition, physical exercise to heart health. They will learn practical tips they can share through simple, everyday conversations.

Waheed Saleem, Head of Programmes and Partnerships, at Witton Lodge,’ said: “Anyone with a passion to help make a difference can become a Community Health Champion. It’s a powerful way to tackle health inequalities and ensure everyone in Birmingham has the information they need to stay well and stay safe.”
