Arts Trail Raises Nearly a Quarter of a Million Pound for Birmingham Hospice
As one of the sponsors of the amazing Bulls in The City Trail, everyone at Witton Lodge Community Association is bursting with pride with the initiative raising almost £250,000 for Birmingham Hospice.
With more than 5,000 downloads of the project app, the trail really caught people’s imagination, with the sculptures encouraging residents to connect with others and neighbouring communities.
Connecting communities
It was such an honour for us to sponsor two of the project’s magnificent 128 fibre glass sculptures which transformed the city and brought so many people together.
Jo Townsend, Communications and Community Engagement Manager at Witton Lodge said: “We would like to thank everyone who got involved and supported this amazing initiative.
“To all those who took part in it and really embraced it, sharing their photos and experiences with such enthusiasm – you’ve all helped to make this amazing initiative such a great success.”
Wild in Art, a global producer of public art events which has organised similar sculpture trails in cities around the world, co-ordinated the project on behalf of Birmingham Hospice.
Incredible public support
Figures show the trail provided an incredible £7.6 million economic boost for the city. It also raised the profile of the extraordinary work the Hospice does providing compassionate care for individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
Key findings include:
- 97% of participants rated their experience as good or excellent.
- 22% of participants learned about Birmingham Hospice for the first time.
In total, the Bulls in the City arts trail raised a phenomenal £241,935.
“Witton Lodge Community Association is a firm believer in cultivating strong, vibrant communities and the Bulls in the City trail perfectly embodied this, ” added Jo.
