Witton Lodge Community Association hosted a strategic workshop with partners from the North Birmingham Economic Recovery Board (NB:ER) to help shape the emerging Spatial Investment Strategy.

With technical expertise and support by colleagues from the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), the strategic framework will align major development sites with local skills, employment, and investment opportunities, ensuring that economic recovery in North Brimingham delivers tangible benefits for communities across North Birmingham.

The potential of investment

The session brought together key partners including Birmingham City Council, BMet, South & City College Birmingham, and IM Properties to explore how coordinated spatial and economic planning can unlock inclusive growth and support regeneration priorities.

The Strategy will also establish a place-based blueprint to guide the regeneration of Erdington High Street.

Giving people a voice

The aim is to build on investment through Operation Fearless, promoting community safety underpinned by listening to the voices of local people and local businesses.

These principles will be reflected in the emerging Decent Neighbourhood Framework.
