Erdington families enjoy a Spooktacular night at the Eco Hub!

The Witton Lakes Eco Hub hosted its annual Halloween Spooktacular on Friday 31st October, welcoming around 300 local residents for an evening of spooky fun and community spirit.

Families enjoyed a range of frightfully good activities, including the Tunnel of Terror, a haunted orchard scavenger hunt, face painting, and creepy crafts. Delicious food was served by Bangers and Mashup CIC, with sweet treats kindly donated by Tesco.

The event was made possible thanks to the dedication of Witton Lodge’s amazing volunteers and local partners.

Goodwill Wrapped up in our Christmas Gift Appeal

As the festive lights begin to shine, Witton Lodge Community Association is once again launching ‘A December To Remember’, its annual Christmas Gift Appeal supporting local families across Erdington.

Now in its third year, the campaign works with local primary schools to ensure ALL children  wake up to presents on Christmas morning.

Since its launch in 2023, the appeal has received an incredible response, with hundreds of gifts donated by the community. Linda Hines MBE, Chair of Witton Lodge, praised local generosity, saying “The success of this annual appeal is all down to the amazing generosity of our wonderful community, and we hope that the 2025 campaign will be our most successful yet!”

Residents are invited to donate new, unused toys or gifts for children up to 16 years old, to find the list of donation spots please see the article below.

Helping Smokers Break the Habit

Witton Lodge Community Association’s ‘Break the Habit’ project has seen great success in Erdington and Sutton Coldfield, engaging residents and supporting them on their journey to quit smoking.

Through a series of community pop-ups at venues such as Elim Life Church, Hope Food Bank, Erdington Leisure Centre, and Sutton Coldfield Baptist Church, the team met people where they are — offering advice, encouragement, and sign-ups for the stop smoking programme.

Steve Sharma, Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator, said bringing the initiative into local spaces helps remove barriers and makes accessing health support easier.

Residents or organisations interested in hosting a pop-up or joining the programme can contact steve.sharma@wittonlodge.org.uk or call 0121 382 1930.

Our Bulls are Back Home!

After an exciting citywide adventure, Witton Lodge Community Association’s bulls, ‘Work Hard Play Hard’ and ‘Rebull’, have returned home to Perry Common Community Hall.

The duo took part in Bulls in the City, a public art trail supporting Birmingham Hospice, which recently raised an impressive £156,000 for the charity.

Jo Townsend from Witton Lodge said “the team is delighted to have the bulls back and proud to have supported such an important local cause”.

The project celebrates community spirit, creativity, and local collaboration, values at the heart of Witton Lodge’s work.
