Celebrating Our Wonderful Volunteers

Witton Lodge Community Association (WLCA) was established through the efforts of local people – Perry Common residents who came together for the common good of the area they lived in.

For the past 31 years that people power has driven us and our community, to be able to grow and deliver the support that people need – the kind that makes life better for everyone.

And our success in achieving such things owes much to our volunteers; selfless men and women who give up their free time to help us engage with individuals and groups across North Birmingham.

CELEBRATE

So as part of our Volunteers Week 2025 celebrations it was our privilege to spotlight their efforts and celebrate the impact they have, not only on us as an organisation, but on the people, they support across our community.

A special presentation and lunch at Perry Common Community Hall put our volunteers centre-stage, with those in attendance each receiving a certificate of achievement and voucher in recognition of their commitment.

WLCA Chair, Linda Hines MBE, said: “Witton Lodge has always been about people. Right from the start it was the local residents who stood strong together to safeguard the future of their community and everyone who lived and worked in it.

“To this day, that strength and unity continues to steer the organisation. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of everything we do. And the beauty of it all; you could walk into any of our offices and not know who’s a volunteer or who’s a member of staff, everybody is one, together.

“So to have this opportunity to celebrate our volunteers, and to recognise all that they do for us, was  such a pleasure and thoroughly deserved.”

If you are interested in doing some volunteering, we have a range of opportunities across our various sites including at The Eco Hub in Witton Lakes. To find out more please call Paul on 0121 227 3200 or email: Paul.tse@wittonlodge.org.uk
