Birmingham is gearing up for a summer of creativity and community spirit as the highly anticipated Bulls in the City art trail prepares to charge into town. Witton Lodge Community Association has announced an exciting opportunity for local artists to contribute to this city-wide celebration by designing a calf sculpture that will represent Erdington in the trail.

A Creative Call to Celebrate Erdington

The competition invites residents from across the Erdington constituency to submit designs that capture the pride, spirit, and charm of their neighbourhoods. From iconic landmarks to lush green spaces, participants are encouraged to showcase everything that makes Erdington special. The winning design will be brought to life by amazing local artists Reilly Creative and displayed alongside other sculptures in the Bulls in the City trail, running from July 16 to September 14, 2025.

Competition Details and Key Dates

The competition is open to all ages and abilities, with entrants required to reside in one of Erdington’s wards (Perry Common, Erdington, Stockland Green, Pype Hayes, Gravelly Hill, Castle Vale, or Kingstanding) and incorporate references to Erdington Constituency in their designs.

Submissions must be sent by 12pm on April 25, 2025, with the winner announced on April 30th. The design will then be painted onto the calf sculpture before its delivery to the trail team on May 21^st.

How to Enter:

1. Create Your Design Concept: Develop a unique design that captures the essence of Erdington.You can download templates here  or collect one from any of our hubs.
2. Include Your Details: Alongside your design, please provide your full name, age, address, and contact details. If you are under 18, kindly use your parent or guardian’s contact information.
3. Submit Your Entry: You can submit your design via email to Jessica.fisher@wittonlodge.org.uk or drop it off at Witton Lodge Community Association’s office located at Perry Common Community Hall, 87 Witton Lodge Road, Perry Common, Birmingham, B23 5JD.
