Community Voice Event & Film Highlights Resident-Led Change
19th February marked a significant milestone for our Community Voice initiative as we hosted a busy, inspiring event that once again, brought together passionate local residents eager to make a difference in their community. This latest gathering of Community Voice is a real testament to the power of collective action and the importance of residents having a platform to shape the future of their neighbourhoods.
The event centered around seven key themes that are crucial to community well-being: housing, health, environment, arts, volunteering, youth & education, and employment, skills & enterprise. Dedicated groups formed around each theme, engaged in deep discussions to identify sustainable solutions to pressing issues faced by our community. Each group shared their insights, revealing not only the critical issues they’d identified, but also the innovative solutions they’re eager to bring to life.
We also took the opportunity to present the new Community Voice film, which highlights the initiative’s important work and features testimonials from inspiring members, emphasising the impact of community-led programmes. This video was commissioned by WLCA to share the message of Community Voice and help reach a wider audience to discover the potential of this resident-led initiative and become active members in shaping our community’s future.

Successful Event
Steve Sharma, Community Engagement Co-ordinator said: “We are delighted at the success of today’s event, and incredibly grateful to the Community Voice members, who generously share their time and passion to make a real difference. WLCA are proud to have facilitated the launch of Community Voice, but it is the residents that lead it. Their commitment is the heart of this initiative and we are hopeful that more residents will be inspired to join in the future.”
