Attended by community members, businesses, officers from statutory agencies and religious leaders from across the City, the event was an opportunity for local organisations and residents to hear about past initiatives as well as current plans to tackle racial disparities in employment across Birmingham’s diverse communities. Delegates also heard about practical, community-led initiatives that are making an impact locally.

Featured speakers included Jagwant Johal and Andrew Lee of BRIG, consultant Ray Walker and Richard Brooks, Director of Strategy, Equality and Partnerships at Birmingham City Council. Representatives from the West Midlands Combined Authority, West Midlands Fire Service and the North Birmingham Economic Recovery Taskforce also presented at the Summit, which was compered by Afzal Hussain, Chief Officer at Witton Lodge Community Association. Delegates also received information and presentation packs.
