Choose a Career With the NHS

The next in a series of employment workshops where jobseekers can discover and apply for roles within the National Health Service takes place tomorrow, Friday July 29th.

The event, to be held at Perry Common Community Hall, will feature presentations showcasing a range of job opportunities and training schemes.

Running from 10am to 12pm the workshop will also give candidates the chance to talk to NHS staff about the support employees receive in order to progress in their careers and develop new skills.

Feedback from those who attended the last event was very positive with people commenting on how it had helped change their perception of the National Health Service.

Employability Projects Manager at Witton Lodge Community Association, which is facilitating the workshop, said: “These events have really hit a chord with local jobseekers, giving people an insight into the many roles available with the NHS.

“People will learn there are a wide range of career choices, good career progression and staff are pro-actively supported so they gain valuable experience as they develop.”

Marcia Lewis, Employment Tutor at Witton Lodge’ said: “We had a really good turn out at the previous session and hope for the same level of interest at this next workshop.

“It is an invaluable opportunity for job seekers to meet and talk to employers like the NHS who work are giving residents the chance to explore meaningful employment and career opportunities.”
