Labour Party Leader, Keir Starmer MP, visited our new Wellbeing Hub this morning and spoke to staff, volunteers and service users.

Mr Starmer, was welcomed to the Hub on Erdington High Street by Linda Hines MBE and Afzal Hussain, Chair and Chief Officer respectively of Witton Lodge Community Association.

Following a tour of the facility, which opened to the public on December 1st last year, Mr Starmer sat down with Witton Lodge’ Employment Coach, Melissa Gayle, Projects Officer, Daniel Crumpton and Volunteer Sharon Haden.

They spoke to the leader of the opposition about how support and provision is delivered from the Hub to help local job seekers, the elderly and vulnerable.

“It was a pleasure hosting Mr Starmer during his visit to Erdington and North Birmingham, said Afzal.

“His visit gave us the chance to highlight how a community led solution approach to tackling issues around unemployment, health and housing can really thrive and have lasting and positive impact.”

Mr Starmer was accompanied on his visit to the Wellbeing Hub by Birmingham City Councillor, Paulette Hamilton, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care.
