Witton Lodge Community Interest Company (Cic)
Witton Lodge Community Interest Company (WLCIC) was established in 2017 as a subsidiary of Witton Lodge Community Association to progress housing and community asset development aspirations.
Witton Lodge Community Association is a charity with a long and proud track record of housing and capital asset development and management across North Birmingham. WLCIC pursues a dedicated housing agenda, namely, to provide affordable and social housing which meet the needs of the local community.
There are currently over 12,000 applicants on Birmingham City Council’s housing waiting list – the local authority area within which we deliver our services. In addition there are more 3,000 empty properties in the city.
WLCIC targets empty properties to bring them back into use while working with the City Council and other stakeholders to also explore opportunities for new build development which can provide affordable housing solutions.
The objectives of Witton Lodge CIC are:
- To increase the amount of housing for people in the area
- To help the community to influence the landscape of the local environment
- To provide Community Support services to residents
The Witton Lodge CIC Board currently has five members with a range of skills and experiences which will ensure the objectives are met.
