Welcome to the Witton Lakes Eco Hub, a vibrant and friendly space at the heart of Witton Lakes Park where community, nature, and creativity come together. Run by Witton Lodge Community Association, our Eco Hub is much more than just a building, it’s a gathering place for neighbors, friends, and families to connect, learn, and grow together.
The Eco Hub has a rich history rooted in the community’s vision for a sustainable and inclusive future. Originally the old park-keepers cottage, this building was transformed through a community asset transfer from Birmingham City Council and renovated during the Covid-19 pandemic, officially opening its doors in April 2022. This project was born out of a long-standing aspiration to provide much-needed community facilities and create a hub that supports environmental sustainability, health, and wellbeing for the local neighborhoods of Wyrley Birch, Perry Common, Upper Witton, and Stockland Green.
Since its opening, the Eco Hub has become a welcoming space offering workshops, a community café, meeting rooms, and the beautiful Velvet Community Orchard where local volunteers grow fresh produce shared with foodbanks. Built with energy-efficient technology including air-source heat pumps and solar panels, the Hub reflects a strong commitment to green living and tackling fuel poverty, while providing opportunities for education, skills development, and community connection.
Whether you come to join a workshop, enjoy a coffee by the lakes, or take part in environmental projects, you’ll find a warm welcome and a thriving community spirit here.
