We were delighted to host a special online workshop to support people in Birmingham with advice and guidance on how to start a social enterprise.

Joined by key partner organisations attendees were guided through a series of presentations with the aim of empowering people into fostering local economic development to help take ownership of their local economy.

Witton Lodge Community Association are committed to supporting the social economy through support from the West Midlands Combined Authority and Power2Change.  Social enterprises play a vital role in benefitting local communities and social and/or environmental issues and this workshop was a great opportunity for anyone considering starting a social enterprise to hear direct from our expert panel of speakers from Locality, BEC, Aston University & Business Growth West Midlands.

The videos of the workshop are live on our YouTube channel  or you can click through the full playlist below.

The West Midlands Combined Authority is funding, through the Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund, a suite of programmes to help social enterprises, community businesses, cooperatives, and charities improve their business skills to grow their trading income and impact.
There are four levels of support depending on the size and stage of your business and each level is free to attend and comes with a grant of between £2,000 and £20,000.
