Since its inception last year, our domestic violence support group, Momentum, has been helping victims of abuse.

The group was launched in response to an increase in domestic violence across Erdington during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A spokesman for Momentum, said” The service is dedicated to helping those who have experienced abuse. Statistics reveal that people who experience domestic violence can, as a consequence, suffer from poor physical and mental health.

“We welcome anyone to come and share their experiences with our trained health professionals who will provide a friendly and confidential service to help individuals through their journey.

“Momentum is being delivered in a way which we hope restores confidence in people and helps them gain the life skills they need to make positive choices; inspiring hope for them to make changes which enable them to rebuild their lives.

“Where additional support may be required, Momentum will connect people to other Erdington based agencies who can help them plan for their future.”
