New Online Support Group to Help Vulnerable People
A new initiative launched by Witton Lodge Community Association will provide much needed support to people who are isolated and vulnerable as a result of the current COVID19 lockdown.
Weekly support sessions, delivered online, aim to encourage social interaction and connection between people in an effort to boost their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Debbie Bates and Fauzia Begum, will be hosting the sessions which will be delivered through video communication tool Zoom.
“If you are feeling isolated, anxious and distressed due to the current crisis of COVID19, you can join our online support group,” said Fauzia.
“These support group sessions will be an opportunity for people to share their experiences, feelings and coping strategies along with information that may be useful in helping others deal with the current situation.
“They can be a very effective source of emotional support by helping people to learn how to stay motivated. They are also useful in getting people to share their feelings more openly in order to overcome any worries or fears and gain hope and control.”
The first Witton Lodge’ Wellbeing team Zoom support group session will offer support to anyone who may be experiencing any adverse effects of social distancing.
It will take place next Tuesday, April 21st at 3pm. To take part, all people have to do is click on the link below then click on the Join Meeting button
