Track Friday 3 a Real Showstopper
Track Friday 3 proved a resounding success for local youth with almost 100 people coming through the doors at Friday’s live music showcase at Perry Common Community Hall.
Organised to engage with local job seekers and those in need of employment training and support, the concert also gave some of the community’s most talented young performers a stage to showcase their artistic skills.
Dellano Lewis, Witton Lodge Community Association’s Employment Engagement Officer, organised the show.
“I’d say this was the best Track Friday 3 yet in terms of attendance and the energy of the occasion,” he said.
“The turnout was fantastic and everyone who attended seemed to have a really great time. It also gave people who didn’t know about Witton Lodge Community Association the opportunity to learn about our services and how we help people with employment, health and wellbeing and housing.
“All in all it was a very successful night and I’d like to thank everyone who attended Track Friday 3 and the performers for their efforts to support this community event.”
The performers who took to the stage on Friday included Lauren, Shenai, Madia Saskia, Marlena, Shakes Harris, Beeniice, Smaverick, Infamousdimez, Jamie Lee and Mr Macee. There was also a special performance from young choreographer Faye and her dance crew.
Employment and training workshops run by Witton Lodge can help with everything from creating CVs to filling out online job applications and honing interview techniques. They are also delivered to help people gain in confidence and encourage a pro-active approach to the job search process.
