Knitting Group Gifts All Sewn Up
Creative and caring Perry Common residents have Christmas all sewn up with an army of cuddly toys, greeting cards and clothes ready to bring cheer to the community.
Members of crafts and knitting group Nineteen Needles have been busy stitching festive designs together during weekly sessions at Sycamore Court.
Group founder and mentor, Eileen Winslow, said money raised from the sale of gifts will be put back into funding further activities for their members.
Each year the group, which includes residents of Sycamore Court, showcases its handcrafted toys and treats at the Perry Common Christmas event.
“Members have been working hard on new designs like the Minions and old favourites like Peppa Pig and the Mr Men,” she said.
“This year we’ve also got unicorns and sea creatures.”
Members of Nineteen Needles have also designed and produced a range of greeting cards, jewellery boxes and toy houses.
“They all work so hard and show a real passion for their designs, they are very inventive,” she said.
