New Look Wyrley Festival of Fun an Instant Hit
Saturday’s Wyrley Festival of Fun – the first to be held within the Wyrley Birch estate and Witton Lakes– was a triumph with hundreds of people attending the event and enjoying a wide range of activities.
Alongside popular attractions like The Owl Man, donkey rides and kayaking on Witton Lakes, the 2019 festival also featured two bouncy castles, climbing wall, football cage and activities for the under 5’s.
The festival was organised by Urban Devotion, Elim Life Church, Witton Lodge Community Association, Spurgeons, St Margaret Mary Church, the Friends of Witton Lakes, Church Central and North Birmingham Academy.
Andy Winmill, Director at Urban Devotion and a Director with Witton Lodge Community Association said: “Having the festival within the estate is very important as it helps to showcase the estate to people from outside Wyrley Birch. This provides residents with a real feelgood factor and a sense of ownership.
“It’s all about celebrating life in Wyrley Birch, the wonderful sense of community that exists here and the growth and development of the estate and its incredible evolution.”
