Cupcakes Tempt Fundraisers
Thoughtful staff, caring residents and generous supporters united behind one common cause to raise money for the needy and vulnerable.
A Cream-tea fundraiser at Sycamore Court yesterday collected over £280 for the Alzheimer’s Society on what was the organisation’s official ‘cupcake day.’
Organised by Witton Lodge Community Association staff Alison Lynch and Cecil Leachman the event proved a tasty treat for residents at the Association’s extra-care sheltered housing scheme.
They were joined by Witton Lodge colleagues and volunteers as well as members of the local community who rallied round to boost charity coffers.
“Those who have been touched personally by the impact of Alzheimer’s know what a fantastic job the Society does to support sufferers,” said Alison.
“We wanted to organise an event which gave people the opportunity to say thank you for the work it does and the difference it makes in people’s lives.”
