On this page, you will find helpful information about activities available to help you make the most of life in Perry Common. There really is something for everyone, but if you have an idea for something new, just let us know.
If you’re keen on stepping out to enjoy good health then why not join the Red Hot Chilli Steppers Walking Group, who meet every Monday at 11am at Perry Common Community Hall, for their fun and friendly walk around Witton Lakes and Brookvale Park.
The health benefits of regular walking are fantastic. It can boost both your physical and mental health and improve your wellbeing, giving you the energy and confidence to try new things and do those things you may have let go of.
So step-out every week for 4.2-miles of exercise and fresh air. The route the group takes is equivalent to 10,000 steps.
A Community in Good Voice
Ring of Sound is a mixed-aged choir based in Perry Common and was created by local people so that they could come together to sing and celebrate.
It has been proven that singing is good for your health, both physically and mentally, and is fun too!
We are led by a professional coach and rehearse on Tuesday’s from 7.15pm until 8.15pm at Sycamore Court, 46 Buxton Road, Perry Common B23 5GA.
No previous experience is necessary and no auditions are held, so just bring along your passion for singing!
If you would like to come along to a rehearsal or require more information then please contact: Linda Hines on 07960 386252 email@example.com
Weekend and Holiday Activities
It’s always a challenge to think of activities to keep the little ones entertained on weekends and especially during the holidays. Thinking of things to do over the six weeks holiday is an activity in itself, but WLCA is here to help.
We run a variety of activities on weekends and throughout the holidays during the year, with everything from Arts and Crafts, music, dance, fun play and much more.
See our What’s On page for more.

Working With Local Schools
We have wonderful local schools in our area and are delighted to work with them regularly on all sorts of environmental projects at Perry Common Community Hall, Velvet Community Orchard and our fantastic local parks.
If you are a teacher and think of an idea that your students would really enjoy, then we would love to hear from you. Call us on 0121 382 1930 or email Paul.Tse@wittonlodge.org.uk.
Perry Common Audio Trail
The Perry Common Audio Trail is an interesting feature here in Perry Common. It was created as part of the Perry Common History Project and is now a permanent feature in our local environment.
The trail takes about 45 minutes to walk, starting at Perry Common Community Hall and following a series of 11 individual plaques – while you listen to interesting audio about what you are seeing. It is designed so you don’t need to do it all at once, if you don’t want to!
The audio can be downloaded directly from the Perry Common History website at www.PerryCommon.com onto any device, or you can pick up an MP3 player with the tracks on from Perry Common Community Hall.
