Since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic Witton Lodge Community Association has remained operational and active, working to ensure essential support is delivered to those who need it most – the elderly, the vulnerable, the unemployed, the homeless.

Working with partner organisations across Erdington, thousands of food parcels have been delivered to homes across Perry Common, Wyrley Birch and the wider constituency, medicines have been collected and distributed to individuals and families; an army of volunteers have provided wellbeing support and carried out daily tasks (like shopping, washing and cooking) to help those who are isolated and unable to help themselves due to ill health or disability, recruited befrienders have made hundreds of telephone calls to provide people with assurance and engagement and housing advice has been provided to people in difficulties.

With the second National Lockdown now underway, Witton Lodge remains committed to the cause; providing essential support where it is needed most.

Robert Netherway, Flourishing Community Services Manager, said: “During the new lockdown we will remain open to deliver essential support services for the most vulnerable residents in our community.

“if you or someone you know needs help in this difficult time please reach out to us.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer for us and provide support and people who can donate food and household supplies.”

Please call 0121 382 1930 if you need help or would like to offer your support.
