The Perry Common History Project aims to record the history and heritage of Perry Common and the area today, for future generations.
The project was launched in 2015, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Since its launch, the project has recorded a huge wealth of information from former and current Perry Common Residents and people who have shaped the life of Perry Common since it was built in the 1920s to the present time.
There has not been a project like this in Perry Common before and the response to it has been tremendous – with a wealth of audio material, memories, videos and photos coming to light.
Through the hard work and dedication of Project Coordinator Patrice Johnson, we are pleased to share this material with you on the new Perry Common History Project website. There’s also an interactive audio trail that can be downloaded onto your phone or MP3 players that can be borrowed from Perry Common Community Hall.
