One To One Support
Our one-to-one support service provides you with the opportunity to discuss personal issues in a confidential relaxed and non-judgemental environment. These sessions are designed for you, at a time that suits you. They are completely FREE and we aim to work with you, to help resolve the situation from start to finish – measuring your progress with our Outcomes Star along the way.
Supporting Older People
Ageing better is a key focus for us here at WLCA. Through our Older People’s Programme we are engaging with over 300 older people across the Kingstanding area, helping people to live well and retain independence. We do this with fun activities, social events, lifestyle advice and befriending, to ensure that getting older is an enjoyable experience.
Part of our support is designed to help people live full and independent lives; living in your own home but accessing extra help and support to make this possible. You or a family member may just need that little extra support that our Sycamore Court, Extra Care Scheme, can provide or need lifestyle advice and guidance,, funding advice and let you know about support services, to enable you to have a good quality time, living in your own home.
Sharing time with your family is very special and important. However, when problems arise, this can cause great stress to you and your family members. If you or your family are experiencing any issues, it is important to get help and advice quickly. Our Living Well team are here to listen to any concerns in a completely non-biased environment, from a completely neutral perspective. We also offer advice and guidance to teenagers and parents, helping everyone to get through this stressful time.
It’s always good to talk. The Living Well team are always here to listen and talk over any situations you are going through. We can support your mental wellbeing, by helping you better understand your thoughts and experiences. This should help reduce stress and anxiety levels. If we feel you need additional or specialist support, we will find the best person or service to help you.
Welfare Advice and Support
Our team can help you access benefits or support services. We also help with managing any changes to your existing benefit, for example, changes relating to Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Employment Support Allowance (ESA). In certain situations, we can accompany you to welfare appointments and appeals.
